The Learning Mindset Hubs

Learning Needs an Amplifier, Not a Label

When we first launched the Learning Mindset Profiler, our goal was to help individuals and teams understand where their strengths lie, as well as the potential pitfalls they face, in relation to learning, collaboration, and leadership, which are essential for adapting to a rapidly changing world. We wanted to stimulate reflection and offer insights that lead to positive change, connecting personal strengths and human competencies with the potential pitfalls they may carry, to accelerate continuous growth.

We Learned from Your Feedback

In the process of reflecting on our own ambition, we received valuable feedback from our first users, feedback that challenged our thinking. Through their honest reflections, conversations, and observations, we discovered a recurring theme: the word โ€œprofilerโ€ created discomfort. It suggested evaluation, labelling, or even limitation, and for some, it felt like they were being judged. Although this was never our intention, we came to understand that intention alone is not enough.

Words matter, not just in how they sound, but in how they affect our body and mind. Language has the power to evoke emotional and physiological responses. When people feel judged or boxed in, their brain releases cortisol, a stress hormone that reduces openness and suppresses the very mindset we aim to nurture. This insight led us to reevaluate our approach, not only to the tool we had developed, but also to the broader continuity in learning and the ripple effect of learning mindsets that we wish to foster.

Why We Chose “Amplifier”

In response, we did what every learning organization should do: we reflected, connected insights, and reframed our perspective. The answer was found in the ripple effect that has always been central to our thinking. Through deep reflection on the drivers that influence adaptability (learning), collaboration, and leadership, we sought those early sparks that ignite positive change. These sparks are what we now recognize as amplifiers.

A profiler implies what we intentionally wanted to avoid: a label that risks becoming a self-fulfilling prophecy based on obstacles, rather than an amplifier that draws strength from a personโ€™s unique potential.

Therefore, we are renaming the Profiler as the Amplifier to emphasize its role in strengthening what is already present, yet often under-recognized. It reveals untapped potential and supports forward momentum. Instead of triggering anxiety, the Amplifier encourages a steady release of positive neurotransmitters such as dopamine and serotonin, natural chemicals that support curiosity, motivation, and well-being. It creates space for both โ€œahaโ€ and โ€œhahaโ€ moments, flashes of insight and joy that fuel lifelong learning.

The Power of Reflect โ€“ Relate โ€“ Reframe

In addition to recognizing the negative connotation of the term “Profiler,” we also came to better understand that the Reflect component of the Profiler was just one essential part of our broader vision for activating learning mindsets. This deeper insight inspired us to place greater emphasis on the additional tools that can support both individuals and organizations in amplifying their learning mindset at both the individual and organizational level, in order to expand the ripple effect.

The Amplifier therefore no longer refers to a single step, but is built around three essential learning movements:

  • Reflect: Pause to become aware of your beliefs, patterns, and habits, and how they influence the way you learn, collaborate, and lead. Reflection creates the mental space to recognise both what drives you forward and what may be holding you back. It is the first essential spark in activating your personal Amplifier and creating the ripple effect that leads to meaningful ‘aha’ moments and sustained learning momentum.
  • Relate: Use your personal report to connect your reflections to real-world behavior and patterns. Discover not only how your mindset influences your actions, but also how those actions affect the people around you; your team, your collaborators, and your organization. This relational awareness is a critical step in amplifying learning and unlocking the ripple effect that begins with you and extends outward through shared growth and mutual impact.
  • Reframe: Shift your perspective by embracing the power of the Learning Mindset Amplifier. This is where transformation begins; through reframing obstacles into opportunities and activating the ripple effect that spreads throughout individuals, teams, and entire organizations. Every moment of insight, those unmistakable ‘aha’ sparks, amplifies learning and fuels momentum.

This cycle is not linear. It is continuous and reflects the way we as humans learn best, constantly evolving and shaped by an understanding of the key drivers of a learning mindset, including emotional awareness, social style, adaptability to innovation, and an active attitude toward learning. These elements fuel the Amplifier’s ability to transform insight into meaningful growth and shared momentum.

Amplifying Impact Together

The decision to rename the Profiler as the Learning Mindset Amplifier and to expand it with services such as team reports, executive coaching, and advisory, aligns our language, intention, and neuroscience. This evolution starts with the individual spark and continues as a ripple effect across teams and organizations.

In addition, it is important that we continue to co-create and explore improvements together to strengthen this ongoing Amplifier process. We already use AI-supported reports for coaching and organizational development, but we are equally ambitious about our own growth. That is why we are working on tools that integrate AI coaching and continuous evaluation and support for individuals. We look forward to sharing more about this soon.

For those already curious about what the Learning Mindset Amplifier can offer, we are pleased to give away a Free Individual Learning Amplifiers that includes personal coaching. In addition, we are offering special launch benefits for teams: Katja Schipperheijn will personally deliver an inspiring online motivational session free of charge.

Finally, we want to thank all of you for your ongoing support. The Learning Mindset Organisation was born from a group of like-minded people who believe that everyone has the right to learn, to grow, and to empower each other, while supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Thank you for learning with us.
